The Country Cloth Diaper Mission
To take responsibility for the way we leave our planet to future generations, and to demonstrate that a company can be built on a foundation of kindness, honesty, acceptance, and most importantly LOVE.
Established in 2020, my husband and I started Country Cloth Diapers with the hope of creating a business devoted to helping a community of people who see our planet as a gift and aspire to do their part in protecting it. We have found that being environmentally conscious can often be expensive, but we don’t feel it should be that way! This is why we want to make cloth diapers affordable for everyone.
This is our family, and these are our children. We want this business to not only be something that we are proud of, but be a vessel we can use to help others and make a difference in this world. The world we live in can be a scary place and it’s hard to imagine what it might look like when our children have grown. One thing that is certain is that we only have one Earth, and it is our responsibility to make sure it doesn’t get destroyed for future generations.
We are far from environmental experts or biodegradability scientists, but the general consensus from our research on the topic is that it takes 500 YEARS for a disposable diaper to decompose and approximately 20 BILLION diapers go to landfills each year. To put that into perspective, that is roughly TWO TIMES longer than the age of the United States. We know that there is many more environmental issues facing our planet, and reducing diapers going into landfills will not solve them, but we believe that change is a group effort and want to do all we can to do our part.
